Curriculum vitae

Anne C. van Wageningen currently is assistant professor at the Faculty of Humanities within the departement of European Studies.

In 1993 I graduated from the Law Faculty, University of Amsterdam. In 2003 I obtained my doctorate degree at the University of Twente.

Research

My research includes Constitutional aspects of European Integration, including especially the Constitutional aspects of European Higher Education Law and the European Higher Education Area.

Teaching activities

I am teaching the following subject matters.

- Country Profiling European Policy Studies (Landenpracticum Europees Beleid);

The European Policy Studies track within the Masters program EuropeanStudies offers a collective research tutorial “Country Profiling”. To show the complexity of European Integration, students have to conduct a collective research project connecting the various subject matters, investigating one selected Member State of the European Union across different aspects of the integration process. They have to organise a research field trip to this country, addressing the question of the state’s integration in the European Union. They use a political, legal and economic focus underpinned by a cultural and historical background. Their research has to be interdisciplinary, which enables the students to draw conclusions surpassing a monodisciplinary approach. The desk research and field trip result in a final report. Three field trips are already been made. The resulting reports are published in the Country Reports Studies series (CoRe-studies) and have been made available via the European Studies website of the Faculty of Humanities. Reports on The Czech Republic (2008), Romania (2009) and Slovakia (2010) have been published to date.
