Short description of research interests
In her PhD dissertation, Andone provided an argumentative explanation for the way in which politicians react in political interviews to the accusation that they have taken a standpoint which is inconsistent with a standpoint they advanced before. In addition to analyzing the politicians’responses for their strategic function, Andone formulated soundness conditions for assessing the reasonableness of the politicians’ responses to an accusation of inconsistency. In her current research, Andone is interested in the strategic maneuvering with the burden of proof in political accountability. She analyzes how the burden of proof is met most expediently and judges the quality of the maneuvering with probative obligations.
