Abstract
Routine to compute the reduction of uncertainty in a set of documents
This routine computes the entropies generated when three sources of variance interact with the potential to reduce the uncertainty at the systems level.
The indicator is formalized as configurational information (Mu*) in McGill (1954), Abramson (1963), Jakulin (2005), Yeung (2008). It has been used to measure synergy at the system's level.

Routine to compute Critical Transitions for HistCite historiograms
This routine computes the relative  entropies generated by the transition  between a set of matrices (Theil 1972; Leydesdorff 1995) according to the Kullback-Leibler divergence (Kullback & Leibler, 1951). The  results are combined with the output of HistCite to valuethe links in terms of probabilistic entropy which is given in millibits of information.

The routine uses a set of similar and all fields numeric matrices that should be numbered sequentially like MATR1.dbf, MATR2.dbf and stored as dbase III or Clipper ('87)-files as well as theoutput file from HistCite in the Pajek format which has to be named histcite.net

The files and the routine should be stored inthe same directory . The  routine generates iij.dbf which contains the probabilistic entropy between each two matrices, hist2.txt which adds to the arc in the HistCite file the expected information values (I), and crtrans.txt that contains all possible transitions in the Pajek format. The critical ones have a negative sign and are therefore dashed in the visualization using Pajek.. The output files are overwritten in each round! Save them separately if useful.
