Current Research
My dissertation project focuses on Wikipedia as a successor of the Western encyclopedic tradition, going back to Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Categories.
Along with the Internet and new media in general, my research interests include the history of the book and the interaction between different media ecologies and society.
I am also interested in the unique narrative potentials of comics, science fiction and video games.
Academic Background
I completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management at the Istanbul Bilgi University in 2005, an MA in European Studies at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2006 and a research MA in Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam in 2008. I am currently a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), University of Amsterdam.
