Biography
Since 1988 appointed honorary research associate at the Malacology Department of the Zoological Museum and at the Département de Systématique et Evolution of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle at Paris.
Research interests
My research mainly concerns studies on the nomenclature, taxonomy and zoogeography of the worldwide living scallops (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Pectinidae) and glass-scallops (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Propeamussiidae). A major focus of my research has been to determine the identity and relationships of bathyal pectinoideans, particularly those sampled by French cruises to the tropical Indo-Pacific. Second interest is in historical malacology, which resulted in publications on Linnaeus, Lamarck, Born and Knorr.
