Welcome
Welcome on my homepage. I'm an UvA PhD student employed by TNO, a Dutch research institute with over 5000 employees. My research interests include
- planning,
- reinforcement learning,
- knowledge representation.
More generally, my long-term research interest lies in 'strong AI', i.e., creating computer programs that match or exceed human intelligence (for every possible definition of the word 'intelligence'). I believe the best approach to achieve this lies in integrating different AI techniques. In this context, I'm especially interested in combining brute-force techniques with reasoning strategies to discover and exploit problem structure.
As of March 1, 2012, I'll be a postdoc at the University of Alberta in the group of Rich Sutton.
