Introduction
Hi, my name is Driek Heesakkers. I work as project manager at the university library of the Universiteit van Amsterdam. After graduating in economic and social history, I worked various ICT jobs, before joining the Digital Production Centre as a developer in 2000. In 2005, I moved on to project management.
As for "Library 2.0": where's my flying car?

Projects
Currently my main project is a full roll-out of RFID technology at all the libraries of the University of Amsterdam and the HvA (Amsterdam Polytechnic). This is a project that includes a innovative solution to enable selfservice for material from the closed stacks.
Some highlights of previous projects: Repository, The Next Generation - migrating our repositories to a Fedora-based system. Currently on hold, investigating. TripleL, where I lead the repositories-subproject, setting up a system consisting of three repositories and a harvester for video and audio learning objects. A pilot in RFID security for the handcollection of the rare books department.
Besides these large-scale projects, there are a number of smaller ones, all dealing with innovation. Most of these are internal, and meant to stimulate discussion and introducing new ideas.

Blogging
I blog infrequently about library innovation on Library Spring. Some creative googling may also reveal several personal blogs, a Flickr photostream, bookmarks on del.icio.us and possibly more, but that's left at your discretion.
