Summary and expertise
Starting September 2011, Hector works as a PhD candidate in the Computational Geo-Ecology group of the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics at the University of Amsterdam. He holds a BSc degree from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (Mexico) specializing in environmental toxicology and a MSc degree in applied ecology from Coimbra University (Portugal), which included studies in France, U.K. and Germany. His master thesis involved the analysis of environmental drivers and patterns of soil microbial biomass carbon across terrestrial biomes and the development of global spatially explicit estimates.
