Biographical Sketch

Irene de Pater (1969) earned a bachelor degree in technical management (fashion technology) in 1991. After working in retail management for several years, she decided to strike out on a new course and to study Psychology at the University of Amsterdam . In 2001, Irene graduated cum laude in Work and Organizational Psychology. She received her PhD. from the Department of Work and Organizational Psychology in November 2005. In September 2004 Irene started to work as assistant professor at the Department of Work and Organizational Psyschology of the University of Amsterdam.

Irene's research interests include job challenge, employability, aging, gender at work, and careers.

From December 2011 till June 2012, Irene works as a Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore Business School, Department of Management and Organization.
