Dutch drama of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in the frame of the VIDI-project Latin and Vernacular Cultures: Theatre and Public Opinion in the Netherlands (ca 1510-1625), with a grant of the Dutch Organisation of Scientific Research. The project was carried out in a cooperation between the UvA and the Huygens Institute KNAW (2004-2010). 

Dynamics of Neo-Latin and the Vernacular. The interplay between Latin and Dutch poetry of the Seventeenth century and their reception in German speaking countries (2010-2014).

Dynamics of Neo-Latin and the Vernacular

Het project “Dynamics of Neo-Latin and the Vernacular. The Role of Self-representation, Self-presentation and Imaging in the field ofCultural Transmission, exemplified by the German Reception of Dutch Poets in a ‘Bilingual’ Context” wordt door NWO gesubsidieerd met €600.000 in het kader van deVrijeCompetitie.

Bloemendal heeft het als hoofdaanvrager samen met Giel van Gemert (Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen) en Harm-Jan van Dam (Vrije Universiteit) ingediend. Het projectteam, bestaat uit Tom Deneire (postdoc) en de AIO’s Eva van Hooijdonk (VU), David Kromhout (UvA) en Ümmü Yüksel (RU), gaat onderzoeken hoe het komt dat sommige dichters in het buitenland, met name Duitsland, wel, andere niet of nauwelijks gelezen werden. Had dat te maken met de manier waarop ze zichzelf ‘op de markt zetten’? En maakte het uit of ze in het Latijn of het Nederlands schreven?

Congres Bilingual Europe

Van 17 t/m 19 september 2009 vond het internationale congres 'Bilingual Europe' plaats in Amsterdam. Als keynote speakers traden op Françoise Waquet, Ingrid Rowland, Wiep van Bunge en Floris Cohen. Subsidiegevers zijn het Huygens Instituut KNAW en het ICG.

Van29-31 mei 2008 vond in Amsterdam (Universiteitstheater) een internationaal congres plaats over theater, opvoering en  debat, georganiseerd door Peter Eversmann, JulietteGroenland en Jan Bloemendal. Deacta verschijnen waarschijnlijk in 2011. Voor meer informatie zie onderstaande link.
