Jean Wagemans

Jean Wagemans completed a M.A. in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Argumentation Theory at the University of Amsterdam. Currently, he is an assistant professor in the Department of Speech Communication, Argumentation Theory, and Rhetoric. His specializations include ancient dialectic and rhetoric, the conceptual aspects of integrated pragma-dialectics, and the characteristics of academic argumentation. Jean Wagemans studeerde Wijsbegeerte aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en schreef een proefschrift op het gebied van de Argumentatietheorie. Momenteel werkt hij als universitair docent bij de capaciteitsgroep Taalbeheersing, argumentatietheorie en retorica. Hij is gespecialiseerd in de antieke dialectica en retorica, de conceptuele aspecten van de geïntegreerde pragma-dialectiek en de karakteristieken van wetenschappelijke argumentatie.
