Curriculum vitae
Mario Damen is lecturer in medieval history at the University of Amsterdam. In september 2000 he obtained his PhD, with the award of distinction cum laude, at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with a doctoral thesis on the personnel of the Council and Chambre des comptes of Holland and Zeeland in the Burgundian period (1425-1482). During the years 1996-2004 he was editor of the journal Holland and the series Hollandse Studiën. Since 2004 he is editor of the Jaarboek voor middeleeuwse geschiedenis . His current research is focussed on the nobility and political representation in the duchy of Brabant in the late Middle Ages.
