CV Rodenburg
Research interests
In my thesisThe Constructionof Measuring Instruments of Unemployment I confront the dominant theory of measurement in the philosophy of science (known as the Representational Theory of Measurement) with a number of case studies of measurement in economics, in order to see what additional resources are needed for obtaining sound measurement and for the construction of satisfactory measuring instruments. My research interest includes: observations and measurement in economics, data collection, causality in macroeconomics and econometrics, theory-data confrontations in general, European economic integration and the economics of Eastern European transition, William Beveridge and European welfare states.
