Robin Celikates
Since September 2010 I am Associate Professor (UHD) of Political and Social Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. I am also an associated member of the Institut für Sozialforschung (Institute for Social Research) in Frankfurt am Main, where I taught political philosophy before coming to Amsterdam.
I am currently working on the following topics: political freedom, civil disobedience, collective action, recognition and methodological questions in political and social philosophy (especially critical theory). Other areas of interest include the philosophy of the social sciences, moral philosophy and sociological and political theory.
I am a book review editor of the Deutsche Zeitschrift für Philosophie and a member of the editorial collectives of the journals Krisis and Polar, and contribute regularly to Cargo and Frankfurter Rundschau (see the tab "links" above).
This spring I teach an MA course on "Justice and Democracy" and co-organize the Philosophy & Public Affairs Colloquium.
My office hours are Wednesdays, 10-12, and by appointment.
