Biographical Information

Dr. Rezaeiejan  (1981) was in the period 2007-2012 a Ph.D candidate at the University of Amsterdam's Institute of Culture and History  (ICH), Faculty of Humanities  and the Germany Institute Amsterdam/ (Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam (DIA), Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences University of Amsterdam.

 Rezaeiejan has studied economics, history and political science. During 2005 he completed his Master's thesis on German-Russian relations after the German reunification. Hisresearch explored the political impactof the German concept of Zivilmacht, Germany as a civilian power, concerning it's relation to Russia.

In 2006, he graduated cum laude with a Master's degree in Political Science (International Relations) from the Universityof Amsterdam.  And in 2008 with a Master's degree in History (German Studies) from the same university.


 


Current research

Dr. Rezaeiejan has written his dissertation on German Iranian relations within the context of the European Union's Common Foreign & Security Policy (CFSP). The research starts with an exposé on the historical relation between Germany and Iran. The main focus of the analyses are the post 1979 German-Iranian  political, economic and cultural relations. The last part of the research deals with Germany's role in shaping a common European foreign policy towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.  

The project is being overseen by Professor. Dr. Ton Nijhuis of the the University of Amsterdam/ Director of Germany Institute Amsterdam, and Professor Dr. Michael Wintle, Chair of Modern European History, European Studies, University of Amsterdam.
