Short biography
Sanneke Stigter holds an MA in Art History from the University of Amsterdam and concluded the 5-year postdoctoral training program in Conservation of Contemporary Art at SRAL in Maastricht with honours. Between 2004 and 2011 she was Head of Conservation of Contemporary art and Modern Sculpture at the Kröller-Müller Museum and since 2007 she holds a post as Lecturer and Program Leader of the Masters program in Contemporary Art Conservation at the University of Amsterdam. For several years she joined the editorial board of kM, a professional Dutch journal for artists and conservators issued by the Foundation for Artist’s Materials. She was actively involved in research projects initiated by RCE like Artists Interviews, Artist’s Archives, Inside Installations: Preservation and Presentation of Installation Art, PRACTICs and the symposium Contemporary Art: Who Cares? She is Coordinator of INCCA Education for the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art and takes part in the Advisory Board of the Foundation for the Conservation of Contemporary Art (SBMK) and is a member of the Supervisory Board for the SBK. She is currently working on her PhD research as part of the programme New Strategies in Conservation of Contemporary Art.
