General information
Trilce researches the documentation of information in museums from a historic perspective.

Her thesis analyses the digital collections of Dutch museums. A digital collection is made up of all digital records that represent knowledge about the collection. Digitized collections are seen as the end result of decisions influenced, among other factors, by the type of collection, resources available and knowledge about technology. All factors influence the currently available collection of heritage information available from the Netherlands now and in the future.

Her research interest focuses on digital heritage and digital cultural knowledge. Special attention is given to the processes of production, transmission, preservation, use and re-use of digital heritage content as these evolve in time. Digitization is examined as a process that represents costs as well as benefits.

Other areas of interest include the impact of new technologies in the economics of museums, national digital heritage accounts, and digital content management.

Trilce has an academic background in Art History and Museum Studies with further specialization in the economics of digital collections in museums. She holds an MA in Cultural Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MA in Museum Management from the University of Oregon . Trilce has joined the Archive and Information Science Research Group to further the understanding of the process of production and transmission of heritage knowledge through the use of digital media.
