"From assistants to performers: the changing roles of computer technologies in digital dance"

Theorizing ‘digital dance’ performances as autonomous art forms, this project examines the transformation of Western contemporary dance as a result of the integration of interactive technologies. Taking the function of interactive technologies in digital dance performances as its starting point, this thesis paves the way for developing new and innovative views on the roles of technologies and the relationship between dancer and technology in digital dance.
